Frequently Asked Questions

I Water My Lawn Regularly, But It Doesn’t Look the Best, What Can I Do?2023-04-11T10:46:19+08:00

Even with your best efforts, keeping a fresh and healthy lawn can be difficult.

Unfortunately consistent and regular watering is not enough to keep a lawn looking and feeling healthy all year round. There are so many factors that affect lawn health such as soil health and sun exposure.

When you apply the best practices for lawn care, you will need to use less water. With the correct treatments (such as wetting agents and fertiliser) applied at the correct times, your grass will be the envy of your street.

Can My Brown Lawn Be Saved?2023-04-11T10:46:36+08:00

Many Perth lawns will have brown patches in Summer and many of our past customers thought their lawn was beyond repair.

If the root system is still intact, it’s possible that with proper lawn care and regular watering your lawn could come back to life.

Even if your lawn has been neglected for several years, there is still a chance it can return to health. In most cases, it can be much more cost-effective to restore an existing lawn compared to ripping out the old lawn and installing new turf.

Get in contact, and we can assess your lawn and advise on the best course of action to rehabilitate your back or front lawn.

How Often Should My Lawn Be Fertilised?2023-04-11T10:46:49+08:00

It will depend on the type of turf you have and if it’s a new or established lawn.

For new lawns, you will need to check if a root system has developed first before applying fertiliser. If there are roots, apply small amounts of fertiliser every 6 weeks until the lawn is established.

For established lawns, fertilising every 6 months will enhance the look and feel of your lawn, as well as other benefits like keeping pests at bay. The best season to fertilise is in early Autumn and again in Spring.

What is the Best Turf for Perth Soils?2023-04-11T10:47:00+08:00

In Perth, you have a few different choices including Buffalo, Kikuyu, Zoysia. All of these species are well suited to Perth’s climate.

The best grass type for you will vary depending on the look and feel you like as well as other factors like location, use, sunlight, soil and budget.

Buffalo is a great choice if your yard has a lot of foot traffic, i.e playing kids. It’s fast to repair and grows quickly. There are different buffalo species, such as Sir Walter, Sapphire Soft leaf, Prestige and Palmetto buffalo, all with slightly different characteristics and costs.

We can give you expert advice on the best turf species for your property that meets your requirements and environment.
